Lumbar spine stenosis surgery with EasyGo endoscopic technique: the first experience in Armenia

Key words: spinal canal stenosis, endoscopic spine surgery, EasyGo endoscopic technique, radicular pain

Spinal canal stenosis mainly occurs in the group of adult patients and in this case the dominants are male patients. Clinical manifestation of radicular pain and other neurological symptoms can be mono or bilateral. In case of ineffective conservative treatment patients need to be operated on. Open surgery can be dangerous depending on spinal stenosis, commonly occuring in the group of adult patients. The advantages of endoscopic surgery with EasyGo technique are the following: the surgery can be done from mono or biportal approaches; it also can be performed multilevel from a small incision.

In case of monoportal approach the contralateral nerve root decompression from ligamentum flavum or/and hypertrophic joints can be performed. There is less blood loss during the surgery which is more important in the group of adult patients.

Besides this, in comparison with the patients, who undergo open surgery, the postoperative back pain is less in the group of patients who undergo endoscopic surgery. The postoperative hospitalization is not more than 1 day.
